Sinopsis

Urinary incontinence is a common problem during pregnancy and the postpartum period, affecting 26% of women worldwide. Our study aims to describe its prevalence in Tunisia, explore associated risk factors and assess its impact on women?s quality of life. Material and method: This is a retrospective, descriptive and analytical study of 267 Tunisian women who gave birth at the CHU Hedi Chaker maternity hospital over a period of 7 years. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering several dimensions, as well as the UDI-6 and IIQ-7 scales. Statistical analysis was performed with SPSS 22.0, and the Chi-square test and Student?s t test were used to interpret the results. The prevalence of IUPP was 34.08%. Its severity was significant, with a score of 52.78±22.05. Several risk factors influenced the occurrence of IUPP: obesity (p=0.066, OR=), carrying heavy loads (p=0.035, OR=), chronic cough, repeated urinary tract infections (p=, OR=2).Our study reveals a high prevalence of IUPP in Tunisia, underlining the importance of risk factors.
