Sinopsis

Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (éÑÆèùÅé«ÿåğ) is the worldâÇÖs highest plateau. With an average altitude of 4,000 meters, the plateau is also known as the Roof of the World (ä¸ûçòîå±ïèäè) and Third Pole (第ä¸ëæžü). The Plateau is about 2800 kilometers long from east to west, and 300 to 1500 kilometers wide from north to south. Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, with a total area of about 2.5 million square kilometers, includes all of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, and parts of Qinghai Province, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Gansu Province, Sichuan Province, Yunnan Province, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, etc. Another important feature of the Plateau is its numerous lakes. These lakes are mainly replenished with ice and snow from the surrounding mountains. Most of these lakes are inland saltwater lakes, which are rich in salt, borax, and thenardite, and many lakes are also rich in fish. There are large green grasslands around lakes, mountain basins, and gentle slopes, so this Plateau is an important pastoral area next to Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang. The Plateau is also the birthplace of many gigantic rivers in Asia. áThe book has 10 chapters in the following order:Chapter 1: The Roof of the World (第ä¸Çç«áï¼Üä¸ûçòîå±ïèäè)Chapter 2: Protecting the Tibetan Plateau (第äºîç«áï¼Üä¿ÑæèñéÑÆèùÅé«ÿåğ)Chapter 3: Qinghai-Tibet Railway (第ä¸ëç«áï¼ÜéÑÆèùÅéôüè·»)Chapter 4: Tibet Autonomous Region (第åóóç«áï¼ÜèÑ¿èùÅèçªæ²»åîº)Chapter 5: Lhasa (第äºöç«áï¼ÜæïëèÈ¿å¸é)Chapter 6: Traveling to Tibet (第åà¡ç«áï¼Üåëìå¾ÇèÑ¿èùÅ)Chapter 7: Qinghai (第ä¸âç«áï¼ÜéÑÆæµ·)Chapter 8: Xining (第åà«ç«áï¼ÜèÑ¿å«üå¸é)Chapter 9: Qinghai Lake (第ä¹Ñç«áï¼ÜéÑÆæµ·æ¹û)Chapter 10: Chaka Salt Lake (第åìüç«áï¼Üèî¶åì¡çóÈæ¹û)The current book volume, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, is a Chinese reading practice book.
